Mia Vore - Yorkshire Actress

Please view my 2012 showreel HERE.

My latest role was for an independent short film for Blue Robot Films where I had to film on the pennine moors from 7am for three days, in snow - and got my kit off for the part! You can watch it HERE.
It won the Jessops Film Competition out of 80 entries and was judged by The Mob Film Company along with Paul W S Anderson.

I love to act because it is the strongest form of communicating my creativity. My aim is to entertain, enlighten, shock, amuse and anger. If I can do that then I'm stirring emotions in the human soul to ponder/question/enjoy and that's what life is all about.

I like to do roles that no-one else dares to do. I do this to deliberately expand my comfort zone, both as a person and as an actress. I had my head shaved losing my shoulder length hair for Living T.V's Bedlam playing Drowning Ghost! I had to film underwater most of the six days in varying water tanks - I'm not a strong swimmer and I struggle to go under water without holding my nose. I practiced a few weeks before I did the part at my local swimming baths and it paid off. It was very physically and emotionally draining and I thoroughly buzzed off every minute. You can buy the Bedlam DVD HERE.

I believe that if you're not challenged then you won't progress. My favourite type of role is playing a dark character - the villain, psycho, bitch or acting in controversial theatre pieces/films. I like acting in plays/films you can really get your teeth into, something gritty, authentic, sad and beautiful all at the same time. I do get typecast for these types of roles, I think I have a dark look and my name is also quite gothic. I'm hoping it's not because of my personality! :)
